Insurance items:
Basic social insurance available in Zhenjiang New Area mainly covers the following items: the aged insurance, unemployment insurance, insurance against injury at work, medical insurance and childbearing insurance.

Insurance system:
The basic social insurance system is compulsory and both the employer and employees must join the system.

Insurance handling:
Zhenjiang Labour and Social Security Bureau has set up a social insurance service hall in which a series of services are provided, such as accepting applications from enterprises, entering base number, printing-out of individual statements of account, insurance renewal or supplementary payment of insurance in arrears, suspension or transfer of individual insurance, checking and payment of old-age pensions, of insurance against injury and of childbearing insurance, etc. For the convenience of foreign-invested enterprises in Zhenjiang New Area, Zhenjiang Social Insurance Center has set up a branch office in Zhenjiang New Area to provide them with quality service.
